California just passed a law that requires your phone, your laptop, your smart TV — and every other device you own — to collect your age and broadcast it to every app you open. They called it a safety feature. It's not. It's infrastructure. And infrastructure doesn't go away.
I spent 20 years as a professional hacker and information security analyst. I know how these systems get built, how they get expanded, and how they get turned against the people they were supposed to protect. When I read this law, I saw something most people are completely missing.
This isn't about protecting children. This is about building a checkpoint inside every device you own — and deciding what it checks next.
A calculator already banned California rather than comply. Apple is already implementing it on your iPhone right now. And the law doesn't even take effect until 2027.
This is how it starts.
