The Covington man accused of throwing a rock at an endangered Hawaiian monk seal was released from custody Thursday after his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Seattle.
The now-viral video of the crime has gained national attention and animal advocates showed to 38-year-old Igor Mykhaylovych Lytvynchuk's hearing.
"Aside from being endangered, just hurting any living thing is just wrong," advocate Amanda Rosbrook Das told KOMO News before court.
